Important Patient Communication Notice

For medical emergencies, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. Do not use email or text messaging for emergencies or urgent medical concerns.

Email and text messages are not monitored continuously or consistently and should not be relied upon to communicate information that may affect your medical care or treatment.

Please do not send medical information, photographs, changes in your medical condition, requests or instructions concerning a planned surgery or procedure, postoperative concerns, or other information that may affect your care by email or text message unless our office has specifically instructed you to do so.

If you have an important or time-sensitive matter regarding your medical care—including questions or concerns about an upcoming surgery or procedure, a recent procedure, medications, medical clearance, or a change in your condition—please contact our office directly by telephone. If you are unable to reach the office and believe the matter is urgent, seek appropriate urgent or emergency medical care.

Email or text messaging may be used when specifically requested or authorized by our office, such as when we ask you to send a medical clearance letter, laboratory result, photograph, or other document.

If our office has specifically instructed you to send information by email or text message, it is your responsibility to confirm that the information has been received by our office. Please contact the office to verify receipt of any important information. Electronic communications may be delayed, inadvertently overlooked, or directed to a spam or junk folder.

Do not assume that an email, text message, photograph, document, or other information has been received, reviewed, or acted upon simply because it was sent. For important matters concerning your medical care or treatment, please contact the office directly.
