About Labiaplasty
Labiaplasty is performed to improve the size, shape, appearance, and comfort of the labia minora. Enlarged labia can cause many concerns for women, especially when wearing tighter clothing or performing physical activities. With labiaplasty, Dr. Omidi can carefully remove excess tissue from the vaginal lips, restoring comfort and confidence.
Labiaplasty Benefits
Women who choose to undergo a labiaplasty can experience numerous advantages, including:
- Enhanced Comfort: Many women report significant relief from discomfort caused by enlarged labia, especially during exercise or intercourse.
- Improved Aesthetics: Labiaplasty allows women to achieve a look that aligns closer with their personal ideals, enhancing their overall body confidence.
- Tailored Results: Each procedure is customized to the patient’s specific anatomy and preferences, resulting in unique and satisfying outcomes.
- Reduced Risk of Infections: Removing excess tissue can help reduce the chances of infections or skin irritation.
- Natural-Looking Results: When performed by an experienced surgeon like Dr. Omidi, the results can appear balanced and natural.
- Boosted Sexual Health: Many patients report feeling more comfortable and confident in intimate settings, leading to an overall improvement in their sexual satisfaction.
Suitable Candidates
Candidates for labiaplasty typically include women interested in reducing the size or protrusion of their labia due to personal comfort or aesthetics. This procedure is highly recommended for those experiencing twisting or tugging at their labia, as well as other discomfort or pain. Patients who feel uncomfortable or self-conscious due to the appearance of their labia or when wearing certain clothing items may also find labiaplasty to be highly beneficial.
All candidates for labiaplasty should be in good overall health and have realistic expectations regarding their results. Patients should also be nonsmokers or willing to quit their nicotine use several weeks in advance. Dr. Omidi will determine each patient’s readiness for labiaplasty during their consultation.
Personal Consultation
Patients are required to attend a personal consultation before their procedure. During this meeting, Dr. Omidi will ask patients about their medical history, concerns, and ideal results. After confirming their candidacy, Dr. Omidi will craft the patient’s treatment plan, tailoring certain aspects to help them achieve their goals. We encourage patients to talk about their concerns and ideal aesthetics openly, as this consultation is time dedicated to their specific goals and procedure.

Preparation
Each patient will receive a set of preparation instructions from Dr. Omidi. Patients will need to take time off from work and other social commitments, as well as arrange for transportation home after the procedure. You may also be asked to avoid any medications or supplements that can thin the blood. Smoking and other nicotine use should cease several weeks in advance and throughout the recovery. Drinking alcohol should also be stopped several days before and after labiaplasty. Because preparation requirements vary for each patient, you may have additional guidelines, so please read through yours thoroughly and raise any questions to Dr. Omidi.
Procedure
Each labiaplasty begins with local anesthesia administration to keep you relaxed and comfortable throughout their procedure. From there, Dr. Omidi will perform one of two techniques, the trim technique or the wedge technique:
- Trim Technique: The trim technique involves removing or trimming excess tissue found on the outer edge of the labia and vaginal lips. The trim technique offers a slightly shorter recovery time and is an ideal method for patients concerned about darker or discolored labia.
- Wedge Technique: The wedge technique consists of excising a V-shaped wedge from the most prominent part of the labia. This technique is favored for its inconspicuous scar placement and is often chosen by patients with prominent central fullness or protrusion of the labia.
Dr. Omidi may also perform additional procedures for more comprehensive results, such as a clitoral hood reduction. Once the desired results are achieved, he will carefully close the incisions with dissolvable sutures. The duration of each procedure can vary, but labiaplasties often take just one hour to complete.
Recovery
Patients are released home after their procedure. During this time, many may experience swelling and minor bruising near the treatment sites. These effects typically dissipate within two weeks, but may be managed with rest, cold compresses, and prescribed medications. Patients can often return to work within three or four days; however, high-impact activities, tampon use, and sexual activities should be avoided for another four weeks. Any further recovery instructions will be provided by Dr. Omidi.
Results

Once any residual swelling has dissipated, patients will be able to enjoy the benefits of their labiaplasty. Patients will enjoy smaller, more symmetrical labia, resulting in a more pleasing aesthetic appearance. This can also make it more comfortable to wear tighter-fitting clothes or swimwear. Patients also find that reducing their labia can help alleviate discomfort and irritation, enhancing their daily comfort.
Labiaplasties have a high satisfaction rate of over 90%, (2) especially when performed by a qualified professional like Dr. Omidi.

Vaginoplasty
A vaginoplasty is a surgical procedure that can improve the appearance and function of the vaginal canal. Various events, such as hormonal changes, pregnancy, and aging, can all affect the vaginal canal, leaving many feeling self-conscious or with poor vaginal health. A vaginoplasty can help increase vaginal tightness, enhance sensation, and reduce urinary incontinence. This procedure is often paired with a labiaplasty to address both external and internal concerns.
Skin Tightening
We offer skin tightening by Renuvion, also known as J-Plasma. This treatment is effective for correcting mild to moderate loose skin on various areas of the body, including the face, neck, abdomen, and arms. Renuvion uses helium plasma to heat the subdermal tissue, resulting in a more refined and toned appearance.
