Preparation

Proper preparation for your VAMP treatment is essential, as clean, calm skin optimizes nutrient absorption while minimizing irritation and infection risk as the formula penetrates deep through microchannels. Once your treatment plan is finalized, Dr. Omidi will provide clear, detailed preoperative instructions tailored to your health profile and treatment plan, which typically include:

  • Arrive with Clean Skin: Cleanse your face thoroughly before your appointment and arrive entirely free of makeup, lotions, perfumes, and skincare products.
  • Share Any Changes: Notify our office if you have developed new active acne breakouts, skin irritation, or health changes since your consultation.
  • Review Medications: When Dr. Omidi deems it medically appropriate, stop the use of retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, or harsh exfoliants and skincare products three to five days before your appointment.
  • Paired-Treatment Prep: Since VAMP is almost always used with another treatment, follow the specific guidelines for your core procedure.

Procedure

To enhance your results, Dr. Omidi applies VAMP as the final step in treatment, allowing the product to penetrate deeply into the skin rather than just sitting on the surface so the tiny channels created by the base procedure can help it absorb. Depending on your specific needs and goals, Dr. Omidi will determine during your consultation whether to pair VAMP with SkinPen microneedling, MicroNeedling RF, Morpheus8, or CO2 laser treatment. On the day of your appointment, a member of Dr. Omidi’s team will lead you to one of our private treatment rooms to cleanse your skin and, if your primary treatment requires it, apply a topical numbing cream. Is VAMP injected, and is it the same as salmon DNA injections?

While traditional salmon DNA injections are injected directly under the skin, VAMP is not an injectable treatment. VAMP is a purely topical serum applied only to the skin surface, usually after a microneedling treatment to help the product absorb more effectively.
